artist statement
Partindo de uma imersão do “próprio ser-na-linguagem” (Agamben, 2008), a minha pesquisa com o gesto-escrita, anterior à significação, afirma-se como inscrição da presença humana, reinscrevendo a mão e o corpo num espaço-tempo de legibilidade expandida. Enquanto gesto performativo, a minha prática articula e desvia signos pré-semânticos, por meio do reavivamento de traços caligráficos, subvertendo a linearidade da escrita normativa.

Starting from an immersion in ‘being-in-language itself’ (Agamben, 2008), my research into the gesture-writing, prior to signification, asserts itself as an inscription of human presence, reinscribing the hand and the body within a space-time of expanded legibility. As a performative gesture, my practice articulates and diverts pre-semantic signs through the revival of calligraphic traces, subverting the linearity of normative writing.
Os vestígios deste imaginário caligráfico emergem como um sopro de micropartículas, numa temporalidade aberta, no limiar entre revelação e suspensão do sentido. Na materialidade translúcida do meu corpo de trabalho procuro acolher, com leveza, as incertezas que ecoam do nosso ser, tornando o traço sensível à passagem do tempo e às suas inscrições.

The traces of this calligraphic imaginary emerge as a breath of microparticles, in an open temporal framework at the threshold between revelation and the suspension of meaning. Within the translucent materiality of my body of work, I seek to gently hold the uncertainties that echo from our being, rendering the trace sensitive to the passage of time and its inscriptions.
O gesto-escrita, em contínua (des)construção, não se propõe a fixar um sentido, mas refletir a porosidade inerente à linguagem, oferecendo espaço para pensamentos em formação, permeáveis ao não dito. Ao convocar novas interpretações, a pesquisa visual opera também como uma metalinguagem, tensionando a fragilidade na construção de narrativas — sejam elas crenças pessoais, de natureza cultural ou política. A escrita poética e a criação de paisagens sonoras acompanham também a minha prática artística, entendidas como formas de pré-linguagem, prolongando este território para além da dimensão visual.

The writing-gesture, in continuous (de)construction, does not seek to fix meaning but rather to reflect the inherent porosity of language, offering space for thoughts in formation, permeable to the unsaid. By inviting new interpretations, the visual research also operates as a metalanguage, tensioning the fragility in the construction of narratives — whether personal beliefs or those of a cultural or political nature. Poetic writing and the creation of soundscapes likewise accompany my artistic practice, understood as forms of pre-language, expanding this territory beyond the visual dimension.
